The Solo is a Three Wheeled, Single Seat, Electric Autocycle,
& is the Brainchild of Founder and CEO Jerry Kroll.
It has a top spead of 84 MPH and has a range of 100 miles on a full charge.
It has all the safety features and convienances of a modern car like AC, Stereo, Power Windows, Door locks & Remote Key.
An Autocycle is a Three Wheeled Vehicle that is registered as a motorcycle, but you sit Inside it, and drive it like a Car with a stearing wheel, similar to the Polaris Sling Shot. This is not the same as a Trike or three wheeled motorcycle tha you sit On and ride like a motorcycle with handelbars, like the CanAm Spyder. It must be fully enclosed or at least have a rollbar. This means the driver does Not have to wear a helmet.
I purchased 2 Solo's in 2023 from junk yard auctions. Both had minor front end damage on opposite sides. I was able to use parts from the Red Solo to repair the White Solo.
My Solo is one of only fifteen or so, that are still in the possession of private owners. Sadly, most of the Solo's produced from 2018 to 2023, over 430 in the Western states, were bought back by the manufaturer. This was mostly due to poor managment, AFTER Mr. Kroll was replaced by an executive from GM. Why Someone from GM? I sincerely believe the radical idea of the single seat, zero gas expense Solo, became a seriouse threat to the US Automotive industry and was sabotaged from inside.
The "Find Out More" link above is for the Solo Comback in 2025. This is for new GT model Mr. Kroll is currently working on.
When I was 15 I discovered and purchased building plans for the Tri Magnum. Sine then I have discovered and been a big fan of all types of unique vehicles such as, Three Wheeled cars, or Reverse Trikes. CabinCycles, which are fully enclosed motorcycles that ususally have Outriger side wheels that fold down to hold the bike upright when it is not moving. Example the Mono Tracer or the Pulse Autocycle. MonoCycles or MonoWheels, are One single wheel that you sit inside of. Example, McLean Drag Wheel. GyroCars, are like Cabin Cycles, but self balancing, so they dont use outriger wheels. Example, the 1967 Gyro-X. Lean Steering Trikes, These are same as regular or referse trikes, but they lean into the turn like a motorcycle. Example, Carver One.
Before the Solo, I was in line with my $150 deposit to by an Elio. Similar to the Solo but with a gasoline engine, the front wheels outside the body like outriggers, & a passenger seat in tandem behind the drivers seat. Sadly it did not come to fruition. Only TV Car Comercial I have ever Liked. Look it up on YouYube. Then came the Solo that had a dealership on Ventura Blvd in California. I hoped on a bus. Met my buddy Reno at a cafe near the bus station, & together we went to the dealership & both of us test drove the Solo. It was a BLAST!!! Such a fun little machine to drive, & with so many possibilities. I could easily see these being rented by tourists to cruise Las Vegas Blvd. or used for Security Patrols at stadium or shopping mall parking lots. Also a Great mode of transportation for your kid going off to College. No gas expense, and no worries about dangerouse, distracted, cruising with a bunch of friends in the car.
